Times were a lot simpler then! It all started with Grandma Fannie. When we came to Grandma's the smell of those fresh baked chocolate chip cookies made us crazy. Fresh butter, eggs, walnuts, coconut and loads of chocolate chips... PERFECT!

Grandma Fannie always prepared lots of extra cookies ready for my Mom, Alberta and her sisters Sophie, Beaulah, Leona and brother Elkin to take home to their kids. Grandma Fannie tied a ribbon on each bag and wrote our names so everyone could bring home a personalized package for their kids. I can still remember opening up my very own package of freshly baked cookies... YUMMY!

If Grandma Fannie wanted to really make you feel SUPER special you got a box of heart shaped cookies dipped in rich dark chocolate... SIMPLY TO DIE FOR! Her rich fudge brownies were my Mom's favorite. She added a little Kahlua liquor... make's them super moist without making the kids tipsy... INCREDIBLE!

Every Thanksgiving, Cousin Susie in Atlanta would send Grandma Fannie one of her blue ribbon pecan pies. Luscious and rich with pecans and gooey caramel, we'd warm it up and serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. She passed her original recipe on to us!... SCRUMPTIOUS!
